The Responsible Business Alliance has been at the intersection of public procurement and IT for many years now. As we observe the evolution of activities and initiatives accelerating public procurement contracts to drive social and environmental responsibility through the supply chain, we see a need to formalize our work in this area. Product labels, Government Procurement, NGOs, and ambitious private buyers across the globe are creating separate and independent criteria around social and environmental expectations of IT providers. The requirements must be passed down to the suppliers which build the product. Join us for a discussion on harmonization of these requirements, verification of these expectations at the factory level and a plan to create a 2020 roadmap for public procurement of IT products.
