We are excited to join forces with Salesforce, NatureMetrics, and Planet to form a new partnership - the NatureTech Alliance. Together, we will focus on biodiversity measurement, management, and disclosure, supporting businesses in getting ahead of their nature impact reporting commitments. The partnership will enable companies to develop a comprehensive understanding of the impact of their business on nature and prepare accordingly to report against new and impending nature regulations and frameworks such as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued their latest package of air emissions rules for organic chemical manufacturers and petroleum refiners with chemical production units. The amendments are designed to reduce emissions of hazardous air pollutants (HAP) beyond controls and monitoring programs already in place through existing rules and monitor the ambient concentrations of certain HAPs at the facility fenceline. Eighty-seven percent of Health and Safety Function Leaders agree that leadership engagement on H&S is the most effective means of improving health and safety performance, according to our 2024 Global Health and Safety Survey. An impressive 85% of organizations are gearing up to implement new measures to tap into this powerful resource to improve the health, safety, and well-being of people at work in their organizations.   Training for organizational leaders tops the list of the initiatives that organizations will adopt, according to participants in the ERM 2024 Global Health and Safety Survey.   While each organization faces unique challenges, the data broadly suggests that investments in leadership capability building should focus on enhancing the quality rather than the quantity of engagements. Focusing on the impact of leaders' engagements will ensure leaders can make a difference. In a dynamic landscape where turnover in the workforce, hybrid work, flexible working arrangements, and gig working are the new normal, in-person interactions between leaders and their teams are becoming scarcer, and so is the need for increasing the impact delivered when leaders do get the opportunity to engage with their teams. The ERM Foundation is committed to creating impact through our people and partnerships. Over the past year, we have partnered with 49 organizations in 29 countries, blending grant funding, professional pro bono support, and employee volunteering to create a meaningful, lasting impact globally. In FY24, we supported the delivery of: -11,706 people with provided with environmental education and/or training. -18,484 people with improved access to low-carbon products, services, and initiatives. -2,766 livelihoods supported in the green economy, particularly in developing economies. -13,160 people with improved access to clean water and sanitation, including menstrual health and hygiene education. -9,895 hectares planted, restored, reforested, or protected.
